This racy little number from Manitoba is a miniature morality play of deception and desire. Snow White lies sleeping on her bed of roses, when three captains kidnap the sleeping young lassie for a spot of gang rape. But in the middle of their feast, she falls dead at the table, and they bury her with full military honors. Three days later, as her father mourns at her graveside, he hears a whisper from inside her tomb. "Papa! Papa! Open my tomb! For three days I have feigned death to save my honor!" The Winnipeg blacksmith I learned this from had great respect for La Belle's strength of mind.
lyrics
"Montez, montez, princesse, dessus mon cheval gris!°
